TheAshman103 defeats David Benefield in the $25K Heads Up Championships

After a long 2 days of heads up action TheAshman103 came out on top of the 63 players that entered Full Tilt’s second $25,000 Heads Up Championship.  TheAshman103 defeated Full Tilt pro David Benefield in the finals, but also took out defending champion David Singer on his way to the championships.  It just seems fitting that the new champ had to defeat the old champ on the way to victory.

Some of the more notable match ups that occured included David Singer defeating Toto Leonidas, LarsLuzak beating John Juanda, David Pham beating Tony G, David Pham beating Ziigmund and of course __Full Flush__ beating Durrrr which was probably the most meaningful match of the tournament apart from the finals.  Full Flush has been chirping Durrrr for some time now and he was able to back up his words defeating Durrrr in the second round.

TheAshman103 took down $551,250 for the win and David Benefield took $315K for second place.  Benefield was the only Full Tilt Pro that cashed.  Ivey, Lindgren, Bloch and Gavin Smith all went out in the first round, while Brian Townsend went out in the second and David Singer lost in the third.

Full Tilt is likely disappointed with the turnout because they allowed Byes this time around, but didn’t really need to use them.  63 players was less than the 64 players the original tourney was capped at.
